Jules’ Scottish bash!

A week or so has passed since I left for the Scottish borders with a couple of friends for what is technically known as a ‘razz’ or ‘scoot’ around the 7 stanes trails of Glentress and Innerleithen.

We booked to stay self catering at a place called ‘the bike lodge’ and very plush it was to, with all the kit we could have hoped for from a ‘dirty’ weekend (in a biking sense).

After a long drive up (6 1/2 hours cooped up in a Renault Scenic) the games of I spy had grown a little tedious and if anyone said “are we there yet?” one more time they would be in danger of being left at the side of the road, we finally arrived at Glentress where we eagerly decamped and rode up to the freeride park with its jumps drops and wallrides.

Sunday greeted us with 70mph winds and horizontal rain as we tried the loop at Innerleithen which was ace fun, and on Monday we rode Glentress again finding a great little bit of singletrack called ‘pie run’

If you haven’t been to Scotland and sampled the MTB delights, I thoroughly reccomend it! Oh, and tell Dean at the hub bike shop I sent you!!
